Welcome to the homepage for our Coton Green Ladies who play in the Birmingham County Women's Football League, Premier Division.
Our Ladies Team was formed ahead of the 2023/24 season with a nucleus of players coming across from Jade Lapthorne's U18 Girls team at St. Johns, and Chad Male taking on the role as Manager. Following targeted recruitment of experienced players, the Ladies went on to have an extremely successful first season, winning both their league and the Open Cup. The 24/25 season saw more attention come the way of our Ladies Team as they entered the Adobe Women's FA Cup for the first time, being the first team at Coton Green to represent the club in the FA Cup. Their debut saw a convincing win away at Tier 6 Droitwich Spa, before bowing out in the next round to Lye Town who won comfortably.
The rest of the season saw the Ladies challenging for the league title, but a run of bad results after Christmas saw the title slip out of their grasp with Leamington going on to win the league. It was the league winners that Coton faced in the Open Cup final, and after going 1-0 up and leading for 75 minutes, Leamington fought back and ran out convincing 4-1 winners.
A change in management for the 25/26 season saw previous Assistant Manager Aaron Cartwright step up into the role of Manager, with Chad Male assuming a coaching position with the team. After a successful introduction to the squad in the second half of the 24/25 season, Stephen Tonks assumed the role of Assistant Manager. An overhaul of the squad saw fresh faces brought in, and with a renewed sense of positivity and focus, Coton started the season brightly with another FA Cup win, this time at the hands of Long Itchington of Tier 6. Port Vale awaited in the next round, and Coton led the game 1-0 until the 85th minute when a cruel double blow saw Port Vale win the game 2-1 to progress to the next round.
