The Green Army travel to Leicestershire to face Ingles in their first away day of the season. Both teams started up their 2023/24 campaigns with opening day defeats, with Coton going down 2-0 to Wednesfield who were deserving victors on the day. Tonight's hosts saw a tightly contested fixture which ended in a 4-3 defeat to MFL1 new boys Allscott Heath.

The 2 teams met for the first time last season, and came away with a win a piece with both teams enjoying success in their home fixture. It was on Guy Fawkes Night that Coton succeeded at New Mill Lane, with first half goals from Matty Gardner and Connor Doyle enough to give Green a 2-0 win. In the return fixture in April, it was Ingles came out on top in an emphatic 5-2 win, with Matty Gardner on the scoresheet again for Coton.

Looking forward to tonight, Coton Manager Jason Pyott had the following to say:

'It’s our first away game of the season as we travel to Ingles. I've never had the pleasure of playing or managing against them so its an exciting opportunity as I love to see new grounds and teams.

We have a couple of lads returning from holiday so take a strong 16 man squad away with us, and need to put Saturdays wrongs right and bring the desire and intensity that we expect from the players.
